Karlheinz Stockhausen was a pioneer in electronic music. He passed away in 2008. As a tribute to him I created a series of works loosely outling the contour of a felf tip marker randomnly dropped on watercolor paper while I was visiting in Dresden, Germany (May, 2009). At one time he gave a concert at the Dresden Opera Haus. Since then I have completed the drawings by coloring them in with watercolors. This series of hand-colored line drawings is now being further developed with a digital program to create new images on canvas and paper.
I use the watercolor medium to paint seascapes to express the energy and movement in the universe as seen in the sun (93 million miles away), the waves, and the clouds.....mostly in the Caribbean and along the Florida east coast. I have studios in Hollywood, Florida and San Juan, Puerto Rico. In my abstracts I explore my inner universe with the play of color and shapes. In my fluid and spontaneous ink drawings I am inspired by the sun's energy in the growing plants experienced everywhere, a continous concert of "Dancing Leaves."
